Mitzi Beth Webb
Registered Social Worker
My name is Mitzi Beth and I am a registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW), in good standing. I hold a Master of Social Work degree and a Honours Bachelor of Social Work degree from Lakehead University. I have also completed a Social Service Worker program and an Honours Bachelor of Social Sciences degree in Criminology and Gender Studies.
I have experience supporting individuals over the age of 18 who have been impacted by gender-based violence, trauma, interpersonal difficulties, sexual assault, low self-esteem, grief, attachment disruptions, and mental health challenges such as anxiety and depression
My Approach
Working from a trauma-informed and anti-oppressive approach is integral to my practice. I participate in ongoing training opportunities to learn more about different therapeutic modalities and apply them when needed. Some of these modalities include Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Mindfulness, and Narrative Therapy. Whether you are looking for support to navigate interpersonal relationships, integrate earlier experiences, or develop skills for different stressors you're experiencing, I am here to support you and provide my knowledge and experience where see fit.

What made you decide to pursue a career as a therapist?
My passion and dedication to work with individuals impacted by gender-based violence led her to pursue a career as a therapist/social worker. My experience in counselling and research in this field has created the foundation to expand my practice to support folks with a range of experiences. I consider myself a lifelong learner, and as a therapist, I am always learning from clients and engaging in research or training opportunities to support you along your journey.
What do you enjoy most about what you do?
I am honoured to have the opportunity to walk alongside you on your journey through all of life’s challenges and celebrations! Witnessing the inherent strength and resiliency within each of my clients is her favourite part about this work.
What do you think are the biggest misconceptions about mental health?
I believe one of the biggest misconceptions about mental health is that their is something wrong with you. Whether you’re experiencing mental health challenges such as anxiety or depression, or you’ve experienced trauma and its impacts, there are so many factors that compound to create what we experience as ‘mental health.’ I'm here to remind you to have compassion for yourself as you navigate what mental health means to you.
What will it be like for clients to work with you as their therapist?
Therapy can help us be kinder to ourselves by allowing space for reflection, curiosity, self-compassion, and healing. I offer a warm and nonjudgmental approach when meeting clients where they are at.
If you're interested in learning more about my approach, I invite you to connect with myself for a free 15-minute consultation or book in for an initial therapy session to ask any questions and see if I am a good match for you!
